I am now selling items on Etsy at Christy's Cauldron! We sell handmade stained glass sun-catchers, professional photo print cards, stamped greeting cards, jewelry, and made-to-order aromatherapy soaps with Pagan, Celtic, and mythological designs. I even have a few copies of my books available there as well - I'll personally sign one for you!
The Second Book of Crystal Spells is now available!

Greetings and Welcome! I'm Ember Grant, and I'm a freelance writer (but I mainly write for Llewellyn Worldwide); this site contains information about my work and upcoming appearances.
Tell someone you're a witch and reactions typically fall into one of three categories. They either... ...think you're crazy, silly, weird, or delusional (or all of these); or they think you're some kind of poser looking for attention; or they are terrified of you and think you're going to hex them.
Saying you're a Pagan is just as bad. Most people don't know what that means. And, since the word has negative connotations, it's often viewed as involving some type of deviant behavior.
Of course, none of these statements are true.
Using the word Wicca seems to get a little more understanding - perhaps even a nod of recognition because it's becoming more accepted as a spiritual path. So this how I typically define myself, if the need for a label arises. It's simpler and easier than trying to explain my pantheistic worldview, my devotion to nature, and my beliefs in the spiritual world, which, honestly, fluctuate from time to time and are difficult for me to define even for myself.
I do know for certain what I don't believe. I'm firmly against any practice that claims any religion or spiritual path is "right" or better than another. We must all choose for ourselves.
I've been writing for New Age/Occult/Spiritual publications for fifteen years. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English with a Certificate in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis, and my Master's Degree from the University of Missouri.
